Our concept
Children are discovering the world in their own way: they are naturally curious and open to new things, registering life as it happens. Our goal is to bring out each child's individuality. We welcome each child and their personality, weaknesses and strengths, whilst trying to nurture them to achieve their optimum.
Our team provides your child with opportunities to...
- enjoy and being part of our community
- enhance their social skills in general but also amongst their peer
- evolve their chracteristics and personality
- develop their imagination and creativity
- contribute to society and the ability to resolve conflicts constructively
- learn taking responsibility
- gain age appropriate independency
- build and develop a healthy relationship with grown-ups
Bilingualism is one of our strong features. Whilst interacting with our English native speaking carer (nursery nurse), children are getting used to English in a casual, non-pressured way. Above this, we are also focusing on developing their German skills at the same time.
Our group is designed for children of different ages (as outlined above): social competence, mimicking play and learning from each other encourages your child to blossom whilst showing respect for other children's needs.
We provide an environment for your children, which allows them to develop their personality so that they can grow into creative, healthy and confident young adults in later life.
Team
Our team consists of four dedicated employees who are supported by a pool of temporary staff.
Ongoing training for our team members is invaluable.
In times of sickness or absence of permanent staff we employ supply teachers to maintain the high child:carer ratio. As many of these supply teachers are regulars our children are able to be provided with continuity whilst in our care.
Parents
At Die sd&m-Zwerge- unabhängige Eltern-Kind-Initiative von sd&m-Eltern e.V. we work in partnership with our parents, valuing great communication and trust. Parents and staff are in an open dialog about their educational views and visions as well as their child's development.
Regular parents’ evenings (every 6 weeks) and handovers at drop off and pick ups are the basis of a successful cooperation. Parents are invited to support us with minor tasks such as doing the washing, shopping or organizational tasks. Parents are not involved in preparing meals or cleaning.
Parents are participating through our regular parents’ evenings which also give us the chance to coordinate and plan important festivities throughout the year (e.g. Easter, summer fete, Christmas etc.) in collaboration.
Once you have decided your child is going to start in one of our groups we do offer settling in visits. The amount and number of settling in visits will be tailored to each individual child's needs.
